How to Become a Signature Member

South Carolina Watermedia Society Member of Excellence/Signature Award Members have been juried in the Society’s Annual Exhibition at least three times. Artists seeking signature membership must notify the Board in writing of their three past acceptances. Notifications can be sent to scwatermediasociety@gmail.com and will be held as a receipt of proof.

Maintaining Signature Status

Once an artist achieves signature status, active membership to the society must be maintained in order to keep an active signature status. Signature status can be renewed by paying dues retroactively for up to three years should an artist allow membership to lapse. After more than three years have lapsed, Signature Membership is forfeited.

To re-activate Signature Membership, artists must pay a fee equivalent to three years of membership dues at the present membership rate. This initiates a “probationary signature status.” To reinstate full signature membership while under the probationary status, the lapsed member must then be accepted into the next available SCWS National Exhibition at which point the Signature Membership will be fully reinstated.

If the probationary signature member is not accepted into the next available SCWS National Exhibition, then the signature membership status is lost and can only be regained by means of being juried into the SCWS National Exhibition three additional times and following the procedure detailed in the paragraph “How to Become a Signature Member” above.  Members of Excellence/Signature Members are recognized each year at the Exhibition Awards Luncheon.
