Event Information
Plein Air Newberry is the perfect opportunity for artists like you to get out and paint, creating artistic community. It’s really simple! On Saturday, April 18th, 2026, artists will choose a painting location in Newberry County, paint to their heart’s (or eyes’) content, have their piece ready for judging by 3PM, and listen for their name to be announced at the awards ceremony at 5PM! Location: Newberry Arts Center (NAC), 1716 Main Street, Newberry, SC
COST
$20 – Student
$25 – SCWS Member
$35 – SCWS Non-Members
$45 – Same Day Registration
Reception cost is included.

Must paint in Newberry County
All 2D drawing and painting media will be accepted and eligible for awards and to sell
Artwork will be displayed for 30 days at NAC and 30% commission of the sales will go to NAC.

Submission Time: 3 PM at the NAC
Award Ceremony: 5 PM at the NAC, includes four monetary awards:
1st Place – $150, 2nd Place – $100, 3rd Place – $75, Honorable Mention – $25
As a reminder, registration is required. Online registration is now open until April 12, but a same-day registration option will be available. The event and reception are open to the public, so even if you are unable to paint, we hope to see you there!
